Developing Awareness
Meditation, Mindfulness and Self-Discovery.

During meditation classes we explore the purpose of meditation and the value of a stable mind.

Directing attention enables conscious choice.

The most important purpose of awareness practice is to facilitate self-transformation.

The objective of yoga is to change the habits in the mind to develop a spontaneous or natural underlying calmness in the mind. Directing attention towards a focus that will lead to this calmness over time is the central practice of yoga.

During the meditation classes I will take you through various methods, including absorptive, contemplative, and mindful practices to build skills to develop a stable mind.

Yoga Nidra

Profound awareness can be attained and explored during the practice of Yoga Nidra which includes deep relaxation and meditation, and can incorporate deliberate directed intention of life goals / change. I have used this practice as a way of working on habit and change with myself and students and have found it to be highly effective.

I have level 3 Yoga Nidra certification which includes the therapeutic application of Yoga Nidra.
Nasti yoga-samam balam: “There is no strength like yoga” (from Mahabharata, quoted in Yogasutra commentary).
